Chinese Specialist

Overview

AI can string together grammatical Mandarin and still read as foreign: it fumbles measure words, reaches for stiff textbook phrasing, and drops idioms like chengyu at the wrong pitch. A native reader is who notices when Simplified and Traditional conventions get crossed, or when the tone quietly turns into a manual.

As a Chinese Expert, you'll judge and correct AI output in Chinese, teaching models to write the way people actually read and speak.

What you’ll actually do

• Review translations between English and Chinese for meaning, flow, and register, the way a careful editor would.
• Rate and rank model output in Chinese, flagging clumsy measure words, forced chengyu, and phrasing no native writer would choose.
• Rewrite what falls short so the result reads as though it began in Chinese, not as something translated into it.

• Native or near-native fluency in Chinese (Mandarin).
• Comfort across Simplified and Traditional text, and an ear for register.

Compensation

$25 to $40/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
