About this role

Overview

Models produce documentation that reads well and fails on integrity: a note that does not support the code billed, a missed query opportunity, a present-on-admission indicator that shifts an MS-DRG, a casual handling of protected health information. Documentation that does not hold up is a compliance problem waiting to surface, and a specialist like you is who catches it.

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist you'll evaluate AI output on documentation integrity and health information management, and write the guidance a seasoned CDI professional would give.

What you’ll actually do

  • Write prompts that probe documentation integrity: clinical validity, query opportunities, specificity, and present-on-admission and MS-DRG impact.
  • Review AI output for documentation that does not support the code, missed queries, and HIPAA and privacy missteps, and rate the reasoning.
  • Write the correct answer when the model falls short, grounded in real CDI and health information practice.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: CDI Specialist, Health Information Manager, HIPAA Compliance Officer.

What we look for

  • Hands-on experience in clinical documentation integrity or health information management.
  • Familiarity with clinical validation, query practice, and HIPAA and privacy rules.
  • Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.

Compensation

$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
