About this role
Overview
Hand a model a revenue arrangement and it writes a confident memo, then misapplies the ASC 606 steps, parks a lease in the wrong place under ASC 842, drops a required disclosure, and presents a non-GAAP measure the SEC would flag. It reads like a filing and would not survive review. A reporting professional like you is who fixes it.
As a Financial Reporting Manager you'll evaluate AI work on technical accounting and SEC reporting, check the standard against the facts, and write the memo and disclosure a careful preparer would file.
What you’ll actually do
- Draft prompts that test how models handle revenue, leases, business combinations, and SEC disclosure.
- Review AI output for misapplied standards, wrong presentation, missing disclosures, and non-GAAP problems, and rate the reasoning.
- Write the correct memo when the model falls short, with the citations a reviewer would expect.
Roles this fits
Common backgrounds: SEC Reporting Manager, Technical Accounting Manager.
What we look for
- Hands-on technical accounting or SEC reporting experience under US GAAP.
- Comfort applying ASC standards to messy, real fact patterns.
- Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
- No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.
Compensation
$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
