FP&A Analyst

About this role

Overview

Ask a model to build a forecast and it returns a clean-looking model whose drivers do not connect, whose assumptions defy the business, and whose variance bridge does not tie to actuals. The formatting is immaculate; the logic leaks. An FP&A professional like you is who traces it back and makes it hold.

As an FP&A Analyst you'll evaluate AI work on planning, forecasting, and management reporting, test whether the model logic and assumptions hold up, and write the analysis a finance partner would present to the business.

What you’ll actually do

  • Draft prompts that probe forecasting, budgeting, driver-based modeling, and management reporting.
  • Review AI output for broken model logic, unrealistic assumptions, and variance analysis that does not tie, and rate the reasoning.
  • Write the correct analysis when the model falls short, with assumptions a business partner could defend.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: FP&A Analyst, Finance Manager, Cost Accountant.

What we look for

  • Hands-on FP&A experience: planning, forecasting, or management reporting.
  • Comfort building and stress-testing driver-based models.
  • Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.

Compensation

$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
