Overview

Ask a model to assess patentability and it reasons smoothly, then treats an abstract idea as eligible subject matter, waves past the closest prior art, and construes a claim in a way no examiner would accept. On trademarks it misjudges likelihood of confusion and mangles priority dates. An IP practitioner like you is who sets it straight.

As an IP Attorney you'll evaluate AI work on patents, trademarks, and IP strategy, test claim construction and the prior-art analysis, and write the opinion a careful practitioner would sign.

What you’ll actually do

• Draft prompts that probe patent prosecution, claim construction, trademark analysis, and IP strategy.
• Review AI output for wrong subject-matter eligibility, missed prior art, flawed claim construction, and bad priority calls, and rate the reasoning.
• Write the correct analysis when the model falls short, with the rigor of a prosecution or litigation memo.

Compensation

$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
