Managed Care Analyst

About this role

Overview

Models explain managed care in tidy theory and miss the mechanics that decide coverage: a benefit rule that overrides the general one, a prior-auth requirement waived in the contract, a utilization review that should have flagged the case. Confident but unworkable coverage advice quietly costs patients and plans, and an operator like you is who catches it.

As a Managed Care Analyst you'll evaluate AI on payer contracts, utilization review, and benefit administration, and write the guidance an experienced managed care professional would give.

What you’ll actually do

  • Write prompts that probe managed care scenarios: benefit determination, prior authorization, utilization review, and payer contracts.
  • Review AI output for wrong coverage calls, misread contract terms, and rules that would not survive a real plan, and rate the reasoning.
  • Write the correct answer when the model falls short, grounded in day-to-day managed care operations.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: Managed Care Analyst, Utilization Review Analyst, Payer Operations Analyst.

What we look for

  • Hands-on experience in managed care, utilization review, or payer operations.
  • Familiarity with benefit design, prior authorization, and payer contracts.
  • Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.

Compensation

$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
