About this role
Overview
Models can recommend a portfolio that reads well and quietly breaks every rule that matters: concentrated bets dressed as diversification, a Sharpe ratio computed on overlapping exposures, position sizing that ignores liquidity and drawdown. Someone has to see the risk the model can't, and that someone is you.
As a Portfolio Manager you'll evaluate AI-built investment theses and allocations, check the risk and construction behind them, and write the judgments that teach models how capital is actually put to work.
What you’ll actually do
- Evaluate AI investment theses on real names: the catalyst, the valuation, and whether the thesis has an edge or just a story.
- Interrogate the construction: position sizing, correlation, liquidity, and the risk the model waves away.
- Write the sharper call when the model falls short, with the conviction and risk framing a real book demands.
Roles this fits
Common backgrounds: Portfolio Manager, Buy-Side Analyst, Hedge Fund Analyst.
What we look for
- Buy-side experience: portfolio management, hedge fund, or asset-management research.
- Fluency with portfolio construction, risk, and security analysis.
- Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
- No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.
Compensation
$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
