Revenue Cycle Specialist

About this role

Overview

Models describe the revenue cycle in clean theory and miss the mechanics that decide whether a claim pays: the real reason behind a CARC or RARC denial code, a payer rule that overrides the general one, an eligibility check that should have happened before the visit. Confident but unworkable billing advice quietly costs money, and an operator like you is who catches it.

As a Revenue Cycle Analyst you'll evaluate AI answers on claims, denials, and payer operations, and write the guidance an experienced revenue cycle professional would give.

What you’ll actually do

  • Write prompts that probe revenue cycle scenarios: claim submission, eligibility and prior authorization, denial and appeal workflows, and remittance posting.
  • Review AI output for wrong denial reasons, misread remittance codes, and payer rules that would not survive contact with a real plan, and rate the reasoning.
  • Write the correct answer when the model falls short, grounded in day-to-day revenue cycle operations.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: Revenue Cycle Analyst, Claims Examiner, Health Plan Operations Analyst.

What we look for

  • Hands-on experience in revenue cycle, claims, or health plan operations.
  • Familiarity with denial and appeal workflows, remittance codes, and payer rules.
  • Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.

Compensation

$75 to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
