Tamil Specialist

About this role

Overview

Tamil catches AI on its split between everyday spoken forms and formal literary Tamil: the model mixes the two, producing text no one would say aloud or write in earnest. Its honorifics land unevenly and its script handling can slip, and a native speaker is who hears where it goes wrong.

As a Tamil Expert, you'll judge and correct AI output in Tamil, teaching models to keep spoken and formal registers where they belong.

What you’ll actually do

  • Review translations between English and Tamil for meaning, flow, and the right register.
  • Score and rank model output in Tamil, catching mixed spoken and literary forms and misused honorifics.
  • Write the better version when the model falls short, natural in whichever register the context calls for.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: Tamil Linguist, Bilingual Reviewer, Localization Specialist.

What we look for

  • Native or near-native fluency in Tamil.
  • A feel for the split between spoken and formal Tamil.
  • Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.

Compensation

$25 to $40/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k to $100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income.
